Educational Psychologists are specialists working in the area of child development and education, with a focus on learners from birth to 25 years. However, in the Highland Council Home Visiting Teachers are also available to the families of babies and children up to 3 years of age where there may be differences in their development or the progress of their play and learning.

The service also has a systemic role supporting practitioners through consultation or training. For example themes which have emerged in the Early Years include:
