Parents and carers love to hear what their child did during their Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) session and whilst typically developing children don’t always share we can usually prompt them to give some detail of their day’s activities. However, not all parents and carers have that luxury because their child, for one reason or another, is unable to share that information with them. We therefore need to be mindful of situations like this and address this need as part of our inclusive practice.
